CLEO

Theme 07 ยท Serve Yourself First

The love language nobody prints on a mug.

She knows your coffee. Not the drink, the ratio. She buys the small yogurts because the big one always goes to waste, and nobody sat her down and told her any of this.

Cleo in a grocery aisle under cold overhead light, reaching for a specific item without looking at it.

She knows your coffee. Not the drink. The ratio.

She knows which bread your mother will actually eat, which one your brother claims he likes but leaves in the bag until it turns, and that you will eat anything at all as long as somebody has already cut it up.

She buys the small yogurts, because the big one always goes to waste. She buys two of the thing that runs out on a Wednesday. Nobody sat her down and told her any of this. She has simply been paying attention for eleven years and filing it as she goes.

She has never once said I love you first. She has, however, replaced your shampoo before you noticed it was low. Three times this year.

What Venus actually governs

Venus is not only romance, which is the flattening that keeps this placement misunderstood. Venus is how you give, how you receive, what you find beautiful, and, the part nobody mentions, what you are willing to accept.

Put Venus in Virgo and all four of those get routed through usefulness. Giving becomes doing. Beauty becomes a thing working properly. Receiving becomes... complicated, and we will get there.

Virgo Venus does not say it. She stocks it, she refills it, she mends it, and she remembers the date you mentioned one single time back in March.

It does not photograph well and it refuses to announce itself. It just turns up in the cabinet.

Venus in fall, and why that word is doing damage

Here is the technical piece, because you have probably been handed it as an insult.

Traditional astrology grades planets by dignity, which is a system describing how easily a planet does its own job in a given sign. Venus in Virgo is in fall, which is the opposite of exalted... it means Venus is working in conditions that are not built for the way Venus normally operates.

What people hear is bad at love. That is not what it says.

Venus likes ease, sweetness, receiving, and being adored without having to earn it. Virgo is the sign of examination, correction and service. So Venus in Virgo cannot use the standard method... she cannot simply sit there and be given to. She has to do it through the material. Through the grocery list, the prescription refill, the ironed collar, the calendar reminder for somebody else's appointment.

That is not a lesser love. That is love doing the hardest possible version of the assignment, which is love that shows up in objects instead of adjectives.

WHAT SHE SAID ....... nothing
WHAT SHE DID ........ small yogurts, two of the Wednesday thing,
the bread your mother will actually eat
SHAMPOO REPLACED .... 3× this year, unmentioned

The actual cost

The cost is not that she gives too much. I need to be clear about this because the internet is going to tell you to stop giving and that advice is a lie.

Serving is our purpose. It is the sixth house, it is the whole room, and it is not the thing that is hurting you.

The cost is that Venus in fall struggles with the receiving end of her own placement. She can identify what every person in that house needs at a glance and she genuinely cannot tell you what she wants for dinner. Ask her directly and watch her stall, because the question is being asked of a muscle that has not been used since roughly 2019.

So here is what I want you to sit with. You have memorised how every person in that house takes their life. Who has memorised yours?

Serving is not the problem

Serving last is.

You have the power to hold your own life and four other people's at the same time, and I am not going to pretend that is not a real ability, because it is. But it stays locked at partial strength until you are in the list too... not at the top of it, I am not asking for a personality transplant, just on it, somewhere, in writing, with the same specificity you give everybody else.

Buy your own small yogurts, girl. And that's on Virgo. ♈︎
